Counselling Agreement/Contract
The counselling agreement/contract is a digital document which will be sent to yourself to review and sign before we can start counselling sessions. This will usually be sent out after the initial consultation once we have decided to proceed.
The agreement/contract will include information such as; Outlining your responsibilities as the client, outlining my responsibilities as the therapist and what we have agreed regarding price, location and times of sessions.
Confidentiality
Confidentiality is about keeping your personal information private, safe and secure. If your information is confidential, then nobody should share it unless you agree to it. It means that when we talk to professionals about our mental health, they shouldn't tell anyone else what we've said.
Please remember that in exceptional circumstances, such as safeguarding (significant risk of harm) or if the law requires it, your information will be made known to a third party. Before this happens I will discuss this with you and this will always be in line with ethical standards and the counselling agreement/contract.
GDPR
I am committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal data in line with UK data protection legislation, including the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR). I am registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to access, correct or request deletion of your personal data. You may contact me at any time if you have questions about how your information is used.
Any personal information is stored securely in password‑protected systems and accessed only by me.
